The Mazda6 returns excellent fuel economy. Grand Touring models equipped with i-ELOOP (an optional regenerative braking system) yield an EPA-estimated 28 mpg in the city and 39 mpg on the highway. The standard model gets 26/37 mpg city/highway when paired with the automatic transmission (25/35 mpg with manual). About 25-27 city and 35-37 highway. I do mostly city driving. I have a 2015 Sport with the NA 2.5 and a 6 speed manual transmission so the fuel economy isn't quite as good as the automatics, but I can easily achieve the EPA rating of 25 city/37 highway for my particular 6.
